WOMEN IN HISTORY MONTH TALK - MARCH 12, 2005
Barbara Bolton (r), Museum Curator, and Shirley Nugent (l), Museum Assistant, presented an overview of the women in Little Egg Harbor History at the Tuckerton Library on Saturday, March 12th with a "hands on" demonstration of implements used by area women in the 18th and 19th centuries instead of men.

NEW JERSEY LIGHTHOUSES- MARCH 19, 2005
Author David Veasey gave a seemingly endless slide presentation and talk on the history of light houses beginning during the Roman Empire and emphasizing the history of the light house in our state of New Jersey. Lighthouse enthusiasts are encourged to purchased Mr. Veasey's book, "Guarding New Jersey's Shore: Light Houses and Life-Saving Stations." It discusses all 39 lighthouses that served the New Jersey coast and is loaded with old photos. Nineteen of these lighthouses are still standing.

MODEL TRAIN PROGRAM- APRIL 16, 2005
Visitors were able to see a variety of model trains in action run by Conductors Bill Kloc and Dave Connelly. They were also able to try their trains on the track layout and talk about their trains with Bill and Dave. The Tuckerton Railroad was also discussed. It was a fun time for all, young and old alike.

FREEDOM TEA- MAY 21, 2005
A "Freedom Tea" and luncheon was served with a little bit of mutton and a little folk lore at 12 Noon at the Little Boro Hall, 220 South Green Street, Tuckerton. "Everything you always wanted to know about teas" in our country was discussed with tea related questions answered. A good time was had by all.

CLAMDIGGERS & PINEYS- JUNE 18, 2005
Barbara Bolton, Museum Curator, "pinch hit" for Lyle Richards, local historian and story teller, and talked about the "CLAMDIGGERS AND PINEYS" that played a big part in the heritage of the Little Egg Harbor-Tuckerton area. She showed a wide variety of tools and implements used by these colorful folk. We wish continued good health to Lyle who was unable to make this program.

ANTIQUE ROAD SHOW- JULY 23, 2005
Marilyn & Dan (wearing headphones in the photo)Melega, antique appraisers, made a return appearance, by popular demand, to the Giffordtown Schoolhouse Museum grounds at 1:00 PM and offered appraisals on a wide variety of antiques and collectables brought by local residents. It was a hot day on the Museum lawn, but hearing Marilyn and Dan's comments wasn't worth the inconvenience of the hot weather.

HISTORY OF BASS RIVER TOWNSHIP- AUGUST 13, 2005
Steve Eichinger and Pete Stemmer, from Bridgeport and New Gretna respectively, gave a talk and slide show on the early history of Bass river and it's first white bus driver, the Great John Mathis, at 2:00 PM in the Giffordtown Schoolhouse Museum. Bass River Township was a part of Little Egg Harbor Township until 1964, thus it shares much of Little Egg Harbor's history.

CLAMTOWN ANTIQUE FLEA MARKET - SEPTEMBER 10, 2005
Another successful Flea Market was held with over 100 dealers participating. It was quite a day! We thank all who helped in the planning, set-up, and clean up and all those who came and made this a special day.
HORNER FAMILY GENEALOGY- OCTOBER 22, 2005
The genealogy of the Horner Family was presented and discussed by Barbara Bolton, Museum Curator, and Shirley Nugent with a family tree, old photos, and various artifacts. Stories were shared amoung the group.

OLD SOUTH JERSEY RECIPES- NOVEMBER 19, 2005
Old recipes from South Jersey were presented, shared, and discussed. A tasting party followed. Yum!
A TUCKERTON CHRISTMAS- DECEMBER 10, 2005
A Christmas celebration was held at the "LITTLE BOROUGH HALL" with Christmas displays and clam chowder. A Party for members followed.
